Testing Recovery Manager and the Database Manager
The backup recovery manager and the database manager are tools which are probably best tested by their usage in configuring and operating the test and development systems. This also holds true for the system manager and the configuration manager. The test system should be configured and managed throughout the test period by the operations and management staff who will ultimately have to do the job for the live system. This is important for genuine evaluation and for skills transfer.
